Awards for Baker, Middleton, O'Leary and Hraboweckyj

Like the manager of the month award there is a joint player of the month prize for December and January due to the amount of games played. Here we look back at the star performers over the past two-months…

There was no stopping Market Hotel forward Bradley Baker (pictured above left) either side of Christmas as he scored goals for fun earning him the Premier Division player of the month award. Baker scored an astonishing 21 goals in six appearances throughout December and January as Market got their season back on track clocking up five victories across the period. Baker netted five times in their 11-3 Charity Trophy win over Lolzors at the start of December, while repeating the feat a few weeks later scoring another handful in Market’s 6-1 away league victory at Red Heathens. There were also hat-tricks in the league fixtures against Lolzors and Nailbox, while also got on the score sheet in their 2-1 defeat to Stanhope & Beaver Rangers two-weeks ago.

Sellindge SSC winger Liam Middleton (pictured above right) wins the Division One player of the month prize following a string of impressive performances for the Swans in their bid to land the league title this season. The tricky left-sided forward has proved a handful for various Division One defences in recent weeks and grabbed the only goal for Sellindge in their 1-1 draw at home to Appledore recently. He has also been playing a key role for SCEFL side Canterbury City on Saturday afternoons and will be an important player for the Swans in the second half of the campaign.

Lewis O’Leary scoops the Division Two player of the month award as he continues to star for in-form South Willesborough in their quest for league and cup glory this season. Attacking midfielder O’Leary found the back of the net eight times in December and January as the Frog Islanders won all six of their league and cup fixtures in the period. When he scores, he tends to follow up with a second as he managed four braces in recent weeks including both goals in the excellent 2-1 Kent Sunday Junior Trophy victory away at Marlee Royals. He also scored twice in each of the league wins against Ashford Cavaliers and AFC Guildhall, as claimed two more in the 6-4 extra-time victory over Ashford Genclik in the Ashford Sunday Charity Trophy.

While his teammates may grab the headlines for Division Three leaders Folkestone United Reserves, working hard in the centre of the pitch is Jevon Hraboweckyj. His performances during December and January earn the midfielder the player of the month accolade as United picked up two wins and a draw from their four fixtures over the Christmas and New Year period to move nine-points clear at the top of the standings.
