Awards for Ripley, Heath, Horne and Hadlum

PREMIER DIVISION

Brewmaster manager John Ripley enjoyed an excellent November leading his table topping side to three wins from three games this month and was busy off the pitch too strengthening his squad ahead of an important title push in the New Year. The Brews started the month making a massive statement beating last seasons champions Kennington 4-2 at home before following that up with another three points in a 4-3 victory over Mersham Sports.

Last weekend Ripley’s troops thrashed Nailbox running out 7-0 winners to move six points clear at the top of the Premier Division league standings. Off the pitch Ripley reunited two of the players his father managed at Bethersden during their Premier Division title success in 2013 signing his brother Tom Ripley from Market Hotel as well as striker Piers Fuchter from Mersham Sports.

DIVISION ONE

The Division One manager of the month award goes to Sellindge SSC gaffer Michael Heath. The Swans sit pretty at the top of the table and added a maximum six points to their ever-increasing tally with league wins against Lydd Grasshoppers and Horsebox Bars. Goals from Tony Dunham, Ross Godden and Billy Somerville saw Sellindge to a 3-0 win away at Grasshoppers while a brace from in-form forward Liam Middleton helped them beat local rivals Horsebox 4-2 at Swan Lane.

Middleton was at it again last Sunday netting a hat-trick as Sellindge thrashed Charing 9-2 to progress to the quarter finals of the Bodkin Challenge Cup, while in the league the Swans lead the way by two points with games in-hand on the two teams directly below them in the standings.

DIVISION TWO

Brad Horne ended November with an impressive four wins from their four fixtures to see the South Willesborough boss named Division Two manager of the month for the second time this season. Horne’s side didn’t play a single league fixture this month due to their form in the various cup competitions with the highlight of the month a 7-0 home victory over Lolzors Reserves to send the Frog Islanders through to the last-16 of the Kent Sunday Junior Trophy.

South Willesborough battled through two rounds in the Sheber Trophy and are now through to the quarter finals thanks to a 2-1 first round victory against Ashford Cavaliers before beating Burton Grove 4-3 after extra-time in round two. Horne also led his team to the quarter finals of the Peter Pain Division Two League Cup as they won 4-3 against Park Farm Rangers to go through.

DIVISION THREE

Manager Roger Hadlum will be hoping this will finally be Ashford United Thirds’ year and their form in November lands the long serving boss the manager of the month award in Division Three. United have gone close to promotion in recent seasons and currently sit in second place in the league table after collecting nine points from their four league fixtures this month.

United beat promotion rivals Mersham Sports Reserves 4-2 at the start of the month before thrashing Aldington Reserves 9-2 thanks to Rhys Hodges’ hat-trick. Last week they brushed aside bottom of the table Kingsnorth Pilgrims winning 4-0 with their only blip a 1-0 home defeat to league leaders and title rivals Folkestone United Reserves.
