Awards for John Ripley, Lee Woods, Roger Hadlum and Justin Day for September

Each month we reveal the winner of the manager of the month award for each of the four divisions based on performances on the pitch and the clubs disciplinary record. Here are the first winners of the season for September:

Premier Division

Brewmaster manager John Ripley is now in his second season in charge of the High Halden based club and his side have started the new campaign pretty much how they ended the last with two wins from their opening two league fixtures. The Brews gaffer has been named as the first Premier Division manager of the month of the new season following decent victories against Sandgate Saint-Germain and Mersham Sports Club as his team battle it out and keep pace with early season title rivals AFC Locomotive. The Brews opened the new season with a 5-1 home win against league debutants Sandgate with midfielder Frank Godfrey netting twice for Ripley’s side, while the following week Piers Fuchter grabbed two goals against his former club in Brewmaster’s 4-1 victory against Mersham.

Division One

Newly appointed Charing manager Lee Woods wins the Division One manager of the month award after guiding his new team to three consecutive league wins in September. Woods, famous for his television appearance in the 2014 Soccer AM dance off, has hit the ground running since taking over at the ‘Ring and has put a decent squad together over the summer capable of mounting a serious promotion bid and a long-awaited return to the Premier Division. Charing enjoyed victories over Golden Arrow, Folkestone United and Horsebox Bars last month to maintain his 100% winning record as boss, with Charing scoring ten goals across those opening three fixtures.

Division Two

Following promotion over the summer, Ashford United Thirds have adapted to life in the third tier brilliantly under the guidance of long serving manager Roger Hadlum, who wins the Division Two manager of the month prize for September. United opened the new campaign with a 4-0 away win at much fancied Egerton and followed that up a week later beating Biddenden 5-1 at Homelands Park to make it back to back league victories. Hadlum, who brought in the likes of Jordan Boorer and Alfie Dryland over in the summer to strengthen his squad, also guided United safely through to the second round of the Sheber Trophy thanks to a 3-2 win against Division Three side Mersham Sports Club Reserves.

Division Three

Lolzors manager Justin Day enjoyed a pretty decent September winning all three of their fixtures whilst also enjoying success with SCEFL side Lydd Town where he is assistant manager. While Lydd made history in progressing to the second qualifying round of the FA Vase for the first time, former Burton Grove boss Day got Lolzors off to a flying start in Division Three earning him the manager of the month award, and got one over his former club as the Pumas knocked out Burton Grove in the Sheber Trophy winning 5-3. In the league, Lolzors opened the new season beating current Division three leaders Folkestone United Reserves 3-2 before following that up with a 2-0 victory at home to Mersham Sports Club Reserves to maintain their 100% winning start to the campaign.
